Ballon d'Or or not, Cristiano is worth his weight in gold

Ballon d'Or or not, Cristiano is worth his weight in gold

I don't know why Florentino Pérez took so long to tie Cristiano Ronaldo down to a new contract and I don't care. What matters is that the deal got signed, though I was surprised how much it dragged on.
Supposedly there were disputes over the splitting of his image rights and how much he would earn every year. Whatever the case may be, they kept us all on edge, which is something I can't understand. The negotiations should barely have taken a split second. It should have been a matter of "so, how much do you want, champ?" Because the kid is worth every penny. Where is Real going to find anyone else like him?
Unlike others, Cristiano doesn't seem to have hit his ceiling yet and looks like he has even more to give - and he's given a lot already. He has had an extraordinary season so far and deserves to win the Ballon d'Or come January. But you can't take anything for granted with a man like that in charge.
Incidentally, I still can't get over what I saw at the Bernabéu on Saturday. I had to pinch myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming.
The first half against Real Sociedad was as good as I have seen this Real Madrid side play - and better than the old team managed on many occasions. It was enough to get you jumping for joy, that’s for sure. The second half would have been a washout… if it hadn't been for that work of art from Cristiano. As I was saying, long live Ronaldo, FIFA and the Ballon d'Or.
